As a summer student used to work at Sun Oil dock in Sarnia. Used to load a Hall boat called the Bay or Island Transport (all the Hall tankships had "Transport " as the second part pf their name).

The Enerchem Laker looks familiar. Was it the Bay or Island Transport at one time?

It depends on the route between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. If you go through the Welland Canal, then the mast can stay up, as that's the route the ships take. But many pleasure boaters choose to bypass the Welland by taking the New York State Barge Canal, then entering Lake Ontario at Oswego. The ...
