Algoma Sault departed China
Algoma accepted Algoma Sault from shipyard and departed Feb 3rd for Canada. ETA Canada late March. May be a race to St. Lambert for Seaway opening between Algoma Sault and Innovator. Maybe both will lock through back-to-back.....

Re: ASC's Buffalo Sold Canadian
this may not be a case of purchasing with intent to operate all ships, but purchase to negatively affect your competition. keeping ships out of competitors hands can be effective. Canadian fleets have done this in past to affect their competition.

Re: What happened to the Algoma Innovator
Appears Algoma Innovator may be ready to depart Croatia for Canada soon. Name has been updated to Algoma Innovator and registry country changed from HR to TV (for Tuvalu, consistent with Algoma Niagara delivery voyage).

Re: Photo Collection
Love seeing the pics of the "Sask Pi" - really miss those bright colors. Must have been early in her career then, perhaps 1st season operation? I know she arrived late in the season, so those pics could be her first saltwater grain load for Le Havre, France, Nov 14, 1983?

If you look close below the forecastle, Equinox class bow tapers in slightly, whereas Trillium appear to stay flush top to waterline.

I believe recent ships built for Canadian owners have VDR's. Noticed this mentioned in a Canadian TSB report for CWB Marquis.

Name for that one under construction was going to be Algoma Conveyor, 1st of the 740' self-unloaders. ACC's naming plan for (4) now cancelled S-U's from Nantong Shipyard was:
ALGOMA CONVEYOR
ALGOMA SAULT
ALGOMA NIAGARA
HULL MD 161-SUL-07 (unnamed)

Re: Algoport Algosea (Sauniere) question
Hello-
Algoport was built to shorter 658 ft length to trade into Sydney,NS for Sydney Steel. Both Algobay and Algoport were built to Nova Scotia class to lengthen their sailing season and expand the company's trade into coastal business.

Re: Where is the Bristol Bay?
USCGC Bristol Bay appears to be on sea trials in Chesapeake Bay. Left USCG Yard this morning and is due back, it appears, late afternoon. If all goes well, then Bristol Bay will have completed it's SLEP and will be headed back towards the Lakes via Seaway.
