When I was on Saskatchewan Pioneer and it had been reflagged to IOM the first trip back we loaded ore in Point Noir Quebec for Burns Harbour. She was classed them as foreign (alas)
The ore was the same as taconite in pellet form, not raw ore.

Labrador Ore

I realize that virtually all of the westbound movement of iron ore through the Seaway is carried aboard Canadian vessels, but I was wondering if any has ever been brought into the lakes by saltwater vessels from other nations?

Secondly, is Labrador ore in the form of raw iron ore, or is it in the form of taconite?
