Re: Great Republic
I would say by looking at the picture in today's News Photos that is indeed the red that will eventually become the hull color. If you look close at the bow though, it shows a gray color and that might be a primer color that they are using also. I have seen gray used for the CSL and Algoma newbuilds in China before the actual hull color gets painted on.

Re: Great Republic
It is red paint. The primer they use is actually black. The middle two thirds of the boat is tarpped of and red paint can be seen in spots where the tarp is drooped. The bow and stern where still black as of yesterday.
Re: Great Republic
Also, was that red the new hull color or was that primer?
Re: Great Republic
Yes, there are control stations at each side as well as front and rear of the pilot house. When I was on the cap used all four stations while maneuvering as we ended up backing into the dock.Scott wrote:Are any of the ships four control stations located in the rear of the pilothouse for use when backing?

Looking at pictures of the Great Republic, the pilothouse looks like its windows wrap all the way around the rear of the vessel? Are any of the ships four control stations located in the rear of the pilothouse for use when backing?
