Your A530 is kinda old (announced 2006). Saving for a DSLR? (BTW, I had a Canon p&s from that time period die this month. Jammed lens. But not used very much over the years, and there was a lens noise for the last couple of years.)
Re the Blough pic...I'd suggest a tripod, but I don't carry one around, so I'll keep my mouth shut.
BTW, thanks for your regular posting of life on the river. Always take a look at the pictures.

Thanks for the pointers. Recently I invested in a newer model, but it doesn't have a view-finder and I just cannot adjust to or get comfortable with trying to see images on a screen which reflects me and everything behind me more clearly that what I want to photograph!
I have a tripod, but was expecting the Blough to make it to the Bridges in good light, so never thought of taking it along.
