Donkey Creek is BNSF's junction of their Orin Subdivision and Black Hills Subdivision. The Orin sub is the line that accesses the coal mines. Of the mines I listed below, the Corderro and Black Thunder mines could be accessed from here.

Does SMET receive coal from the Donkey Creek area also?

Originally the movement from Wyoming to Superior was Burlington-Northern, now it's BNSF.

For the Superior facility it appears a lot of the coal will be hauled by the BNSF. I know these mines are served by BNSF only:
DKM = Decker Mine, MT
SCM = Spring Creek Mine, MT
SXM = Signal Peak Mine, MT
ABM = Absaloka Mine, MT

I believe Union Pacific does move some coal too, but nothing compared to BNSF. I believe these mines are served by both railroads:

COM = Corderro Mine, WY (I think)
BTM = Black Thunder Mine, WY

Once in great while, there may be some Colorado coal thrown into the mix. In that case, that would be a UP move.

Does anyone know who has the contract to haul coal to Midwest Energy, or is it all a Detroit Edison operation?
