Whats up for IMS in Port Colborne, there are no ships there to scrap??? any coming???

IMS has made quick work of scrapping Algoma Transfer, she is gone and they have started on the McKeil barge which appears to be half gone in a matter of days. They seem to have changed their system are using a large crane to remove much larger sections of the ships and then cutting them down on shore for transport off site. When American Fortitude arrives, might make short work of her.

Out of curiosity, which mckeil barge are they cutting up?

I was by the Algoway twice in the last week.
The broken boom end is on the dock. The remainder is still on board.
There is no evidence of repairs I can see. Looks to me like she's being cleaned out prior to scrapping.

I never implied an overseas scrapping anywhere in my posts just that she will not probaby make it up through the seaway before it closes
Her ETA Baie Comeau is late on the 29th. Assuming she unloads right away and it takes a day, she might be back in Montreal by January 1. If they don't let her into the system it doesn't necessarily mean an overseas scrapping. Look at the American Fortitude; she was towed from Toledo to beyond Montreal and now back to PC.

Agreed; you didn't imply an overseas scrapping. Those were just my comments on Montreal as a final layup port. For a retiring laker, that's typically meant an overseas scrapping.

So does anyone know where Montrealais will be taking cargo from TBay? To go below in the seaway and back up to PC would not be possible.

I thought it was Montreal. That leaves 9 days from TB to Montreal, unload and possibly back to Port Colborne. That's tight but doable. Also, they've made exceptions in the past.

The Algoway is sitting at the sand dock in Pt Colborne.
She looks really bad and her boom is broken in two.

She is near identical to Agawa Canyon in many ways which was scrapped, look for her to never sail again and move a half mile to IMS.

It was going to be 3, Fortitude, Progress and Jadran from Toronto. Will probably just be the two, Jadran tow looking unlikely this year. Who knows.

Probably the Fortitude, Algoma Montrealais and Algoma Progress

Likely Algoma Progress is one of them and maybe Algoma Navigator.

Not likely with the other 2 ASC steamers, this year anyway. There has been so signs of equipment removal as of yet.

Possibly Algoma Montrealais? Could ASC be ready to dicard the American Valor and American Victory before the season ends?
