Last year William posted in the tugster blog:

...I used to run south past the country club (Oak Hill) to the canal, trying to find that site, but never could. Any idea where it was?"

About the only distinct feature that is still visible is the concrete bulkhead that was built across the abandoned "Enlarged" Erie Canal prism, to create a graving basin at the northern end of the old shipyard. That section of the old canal, which went through downtown Rochester, was bypassed when the canal was straightened out with the 1917-18 construction of the New York State Barge Canal, but remained watered until sometime after that yard closed in the 1930s.

There is a parking area near the ruins, on the north side of French Road.

At the time of this post, the later and larger WWII era Odenbach Shipyard building in Greece NY is finally being demolished:
