grounding of the bulker Tundra

At some time between sunset on the 20th of June and sunrise on the 21st the Tundra ran aground just east of Lancaster ON. She was down bound and seems to have turned east prematurely. This section of Lake St Francis is where ships cross the sand bar from the north side of the river to the south side. The river is very shallow on the east side of this transit channel. The ship was very light; with almost the entire blade of her propeller exposed at its upward extension . The ship had been delayed by the cruise ship St Lawrence accident The ship was involved in a similar incident near Sorel in 2012. In 2012 a big issue was fatigue.
