I am saddened by his passing. He was a tremendous help in identifying slides in the WGM collection and in other ways. He will be sorely missed.

I wanted to say that I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of J. Albin Jackman. When I was a teenager, we became friends and he, along with great men like Wayne Garrett and the late Bill Luke, was a great source of inspiration and information for a young guy learning about the ships and sailors who sailed the lakes, providing guidance and information to show the way. Always friendly, always cheerful, he was a great man and a good friend.

It is also worth noting that, as a funeral director for so many years, he also touched the lives of thousands of people in providing comfort and support in their times of great need. There is a special place in Heaven for people like him.

To Al's family, I offer my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy and condolences and I apologize for missing the funeral.

God Bless.
