Br-r-r-r-r! Jared, just reading your comments about doing dive practice makes me shiver! Can't imagine being in the water with the temperatures as low as they've been the past week. Since most ships are in lay-up now, my days of photographing will be few and far between. Just checked the Port Huron cam. Looks like ice is flowing on the river now. That's worth checking out!Jared wrote:We were doing dive practice in the river off Marysville boat launch when the Integrity came down coated with ice. Then about an hour later the new Canadian boat followed. I would not liked to have been the one chipping the ice off the integrity's forward opservation post! Thanks again Bookworm!

Great pics as usual Bookworm. I love the pics of the boats with the ice on there bows. Looks quite impressive and interesting. Thanks very much for all the pictures you share with all of us all season long. I sure do miss the daily news pictures, but with the pics you post frequently are very much appreciated. Have a great winter and I look forward to your frequent pics in the Spring for the new shipping season. Stay safe and stay warm. Here in Indianapolis we are under a wind chill advisory with wind chill readings expected to be -10 to -20 with highs only expected to be 4 to 8 the next couple days. My daughter's school district has already called off school for Monday because of the temps. Take care and once again Thank you very much. 3long and 2short to you.

Three more to lay-up (2016/01/16)
The last three down-bound ships to lock through before the Soo Locks closed were on the St. Clair River today. Once they deliver their cargoes, they'll head to lay-up. Word has it that Lee A. Tregurtha has a trip or two between Escanaba and AK-Rouge before she heads to Bayship (Sturgeon Bay, WI) for installation of a scrubber system.
