The article specifically states that four of the ships were built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, leaving the Cresswell as the fifth.

The latest release from Algoma states that the 5 bulk commodity ships to be retired date from the 1960s to early 1970s. As such, this would not seem to include the 1980 built Peter R. Creswell unless it was part of an earlier retirement decision. The spate of retirements is not confined to the lakes as several ocean fleets are also reducing their ships to reflect over capacity.

The Algosar could be in the process of being sold to a foreign operator. The others will be sold for scrap when the scrap prices increase.

That's what will become of these six Algoma ships, if a recent post is correct.
