Ditto, fun to watch. I notice that there are no lookouts on the bow like there were when I was sailing in the early-70's. I understand that many things have changed since I was standing "lookout on the bow" so, my question is, what is the watchman on duty doing while the boat is in constricted waters if he is no longer needed "on the bow"? TIA John

1964 I was watchman on the Enders M. Voorhees and we made 10 trips out the seaway. That is the way to view Canada on the bow of a Great Lakes boat. I believe they no longer use a watchman as such, just an all-around AB. Used where ever needed and the mate and man on the wheel act as lookout. It used to be that the lookout could have no other job. Have no idea how they have gotten around that law - maybe it has not been tested in court yet.
