Re: St. Clair Boardwalk Construction
Thanks Steve and Roger for that and your replies. Sounds like from what I see that they may have started redoing the boardwalk like you suggest and that they are waiting on the weather now in order to finish it up. Haven't been out there since late November last year and have been wondering what is going on out there as far as the boardwalk project. As far as how old the boardwalk is though, I can assure you as I was there and have the pictures to prove that the last time they redid the boardwalk was in the Spring of 1992 as that's when I first started to boat watch in St. Clair and I recall all too well them working on the boardwalk and having parts of it as well fenced off. Made it a bit of a challenge at times to try and take pictures of ships passing through at the time. It was nice when it was finished but at times was a challenge while it was being done. In time though, I'm sure the boardwalk will look nice once again.

The boardwalk will be totally replaced, plan is to have it done in the next month or so. The original boardwalk has been removed and they are waiting on the weather to begin the replacement process, was told the original walk was about 30 years old, or so.
Re: St. Clair Boardwalk Construction
When I was up there last week I saw it was fenced off and was wondering what was up. No signs of construction then. It will be nice when they get that fixed and the St Clair Inn rebuilt.

St. Clair Boardwalk Construction
Would like to ask questiond regarding the St. Clair Boardwalk and not sure where to put the questions? Anyway has anyone heard yet or knows if they are planning on putting a new boardwalk out in the city of St. Clair, Michigan? Last year there was talk about them re-doing the boardwalk in St. Clair and that the city leaders gave their approval and a grant to the project about $300,000 I believe it was. However, I have not seen or heard anything further said on the project. With the long winter, snow and cold weather I would imagine this may slow and delay the project possibly from being started. I recall in 1992 the last time the boardwalk in St. Clair was redone as it started in the Spring during April and lasted through at least all of April into May and possibly June as well. Just wonder if they plan to start the project soon and when and also just how long it will last? Any information is appreciated here. Thank You.
