Re: ASC Scrubbers
Yeah, the scrubber on the Spruceglen is a non functional Scrubber.Hence scrubber in name only.

Re: ASC Scrubbers
The stacks were not removed from the Interlake footers. They were simply joined together.

Re: ASC Scrubbers
The Spirit is the only boat with scrubbers in the fleet, the rest run on low sulfur diesel and dont need them.

Re: ASC Scrubbers
The American Spirit does indeed have the scrubbers however one of the noticeable differences is the Spirit somehow still has her twin stacks yet on the Interlake footers the Barker, Miner and Tregurtha they removed the twin stacks and replaced them with one large stack. I believe the American Spirit is the only one from ASC that has the scrubbers in them as I don’t know of any others. The American Spirit started using the scrubbers either during the 2016 or 2017 shipping season. She did not have them during the 2015 season. Hope that this informations helps.

Re: ASC Scrubbers
Only the Americans Spirit has them. The rest of the fleet no longer burns heavy fuel so they don’t need scrubbers.
Also, as far as the “first fleet to install scrubbers”, I believe the first laker to have them installed at all was the Spruceglen in 2011.

ASC Scrubbers
I saw someone post a picture on Facebook of a "scrubber plume" on the American Spirit. I didn't realize that ASC had installed scrubbers on any of its boats. There was much ballyhoo about Interlake being the first fleet to install scrubbers back in 2016, but I've read nothing about ASC following suit. Can anyone confirm that ASC has indeed installed scrubbers on some of its boats? If so, does anyone know which ASC boats have them?
