Thanks again Guest and also so thankful and glad for all of our extra help and volunteers for keeping up with the fit-outs so far this Spring. Like I said or mentioned either here or in another thread, I just can’t keep up with all these fit outs and departures anymore. Glad to help when I can but as you all can see, I can’t see and get everybody here.

Thanks Guest for that one. Also, for those following and interested both Interlake and now ASC I noticed have tentative fit out schedules posted on their respective websites. Please remember though everyone that dates and times are very tentative right now due to the ice conditions and they can change very quickly and rapidly! So do not go exactly by what they show and list on the schedules just yet. Be patient and wait.

Two more to add to the list. The Burns Harbor is now out heading for the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal as I type this right now and also the Calumet departed from Ashtabula late last night. As Dan McNeil mentioned the Algoma Sault departed Sarnia yesterday as well.

Also on Sunday, the McKeil Spirit departed its lay-up in Toronto, en route to Picton. It appears that the CSL Welland left its berth in Montreal on Mar 22, and is now anchored off Sorel, presumably waiting to load there. The Robert S. Pierson also shifted off of the Manitowoc today in Sarnia and is now at the dock just vacated by the CSL Tadoussac.

Algoma Sault got underway from lay up in Sarnia sometime today Monday March 25. She's in ballast for Thunder Bay.

Only departures that i can tell for today Monday March 25, is Algoma Equinox is underway from Hamilton and Sam Laud could possibly be underway in Cleveland but the Laud I'm not totally sure about.

Also let’s not forget besides everyone being excited for the start up of the new season currently, there’s also the release of the Know Your Ships Book and also Roger’s 60th anniversary edition as well. Let’s all remember we’re just getting started with this and we still have a very long ways and many months yet to go here. I’m just taking a deep breath right now from it and trying to relax and enjoy the start of the new season slow but gradual.

I agree also and that's why I am making an effort to cut back on my postings here as far as departures go and let somebody else take the reins for a change. Right now I'm having a hard enough time just keeping up with all this stuff and all the recent news and fit out stuff right now. It hasn't been easy inspite of all the AIS page stuff, news and trying to track vessel movements and fit outs as some of us here can only do so much work at a time right now.

Please don't take this the wrong way, as I know everyone is excited about the start to another great season, but maybe we should consolidate all posts about the start of the season? It seems like there's a new thread for every day, every ship, first to the locks, etc. which is kind of overkill.

Disregard my question regarding the CSL Taddousac on her run this season. I confirmed with a friend on Facebook that she in fact will run Cement Clinker from Bowmanville to Detroit and then head for Ore in Superior for Nanticoke and then back to Bowmanville. She's going to be a very busy girl this season.

The John J. Boland has now just sailed out and departed from Lay Up in Toledo on their way to Silver Bay to load taconite. To answer my good and dear friend Dan McNeil’s question, you answered your own there my friend on the CSL Tadoussac as that is exactly what she will be doing and what she used to do years ago. Remember after she was widened in 2001 and went into the cement clinker trade then. She would load and then go up to Essroc in Essexville and drop that off and then head up to Superior and the BN Dock, load taconite and then take it down to either Hamilton or Nanticoke. The point is, most likely she will be doing that type of run this year. Also, CSL is no stranger to the cement clinker runs as they had it in the 1990s perhaps earlier with the Frontenac and then later with the Louis R. Desmarais and of course the CSL Tadoussac also.

Clyde S. Vanenkevort/Erie Trader have departed lay up in Toledo and are currently in the Detroit River.......American Mariner also departed Lay up in Toledo and also are in the Detroit River.
Since the CSL Taddousac is now going to be on the cement Clinker run i wonder what CSL ship will take over her ore run from Superior to Nanticoke. Or i wonder if she will run cement Clinker from Bowmanville to Detroit and then head up to Superior and load for Nanticoke and then head back to Bowmanville for Clinker.

Thanks Denny, good point about the paint job and cement. You may recall the Tad was painted all gray a few seasons back so it'd still look alright with what they were hauling, which may've been cement clinker or something of the like.

From AIS, it appears that CSL Tadoussac may have departed Sarnia and Winter Lay-Up. Their AIS is showing a Bowmanville destination and due sometime on March 26th. So as I had asked last year and got what I was looking for, it appears the Tad has indeed taken over the Jackman’s cement runs since the Jackman will go to scrap. It appears CSL has now picked up the cement contract from Algoma to load in Bowmanville. Better enjoy and get all the photos of the Tad now while she looks good as it’s only a matter of time before her red hull paint job gets worn out from the cement cargoes. Take for instance what happened years ago to the Louis R. Desmarais and its red hull and paint from years of hauling all those cement cargoes. Sorry to go off topic and thread on this.

In viewing the AIS maps right now and I’m sure that I’ll probably miss a few departures today, so far I got the James R. Barker leaving Lay Up in Sturgeon Bay, Mesabi Miner departing the fuel dock in Duluth and also the Joyce L. Van Enkevort and Great Lakes Trader leaving from Toledo. Like I said earlier in this post, I may miss a few departures today so if anyone has any information it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
