A very belated Happy Birthday to you, Bookworm, and an early happy birthday to my friend Denny! So glad to hear, Denny, that you got out to the river to see the Burns Harbor with your new camera. I hope you'll consider sharing some photos with us.

I am still trying to get caught up after five days in the Soo where we saw 40 ships. Unfortunately we didn't get the Burns Harbor, but the highlight of the trip was getting a salute from Captain Bob on the PRT when they passed upbound at Mission Point in perfect evening lighting! I am still sorting through photos and trying to find the time to edit some so that I can send them to Mr. Know Your Ships for possible inclusion in the 2020 edition of the Know Your Ships book! You take care my friends Denny and Bookworm!

It certainly did Bookworm and it makes up for NOT going up to the river and see my all time favorite the Paul R. Tregurtha when I had the Golden Chance and Opportunity on Tuesday but hey what can a person do when they have other appointments and obligations? Sure would be nice if us boatnerds could be like Super Man and be in more than once place at one time LOL! Now if only things can work out and Mother Nature helps me as far as celebrating my big birthday next week. I want to celebrate it at the river as I haven't been to the river since 2013 on my birthday but a lot of that is from health issues and my Mom's health as well. So, this year my birthday is on a Friday and next year thanks to it being a Leap Year it goes to Sunday. Well the point is I usually never make it to the river on a Sunday so this year Mother Nature owes me one on my big birthday bash big time! Right now I see the Big Indy is due on my birthday in the mid-afternoon for the St. Clair Power Plant and I haven't seen her yet this year. So far I've seen seven of the 13 1,000 footers on the river this year in only five official trips out to the river. If I keep up on this pace I could see 12 of them on the river with the exception being the Cort of course which doesn't come our way unfortunately. Still not a bad start for me for 2019! Sorry to go off topic and subject here. Hope you had a great day for your birthday my friend. Keep shooting those great photos!

Did you see your all time favorite go up on the St. Clair River today? I was out there today and saw them in St. Clair and YES I also got the Burns Harbor in St. Clair as well tonight with a great salute as well. Also your photos are absolutely wonderful and very nicely done. Keep up the good work on them!

Is it just me, or does it look like part of the St. Clair River Walk is buckling near where the flowers are? I believe this is where a walkway comes down from a small parking lot across from the north end of the St. Clair Plaza Mall.

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words so, with that in mind, this is how the St. Clair River level is impacting public shoreline at Marysville and St. Clair.
The Marysville Department of Public Works continuously adds concrete slabs, large rocks and plastic sheeting to help reduce shoreline erosion.

OK, so I can't quit photographing and posting ships and Great Lakes related scenes cold turkey!
The day changed from overcast morning skies to stunning blue so I decided to try for photos from Point Edward, Canada. Paid my Bluewater Bridges toll and before I could get into the travel lane, a deep fog horn sounded and repeated as I crossed. Incredibly, I was above a heavy layer of fog that ended at the mouth of the St. Clair River!
After finding a good vantage, it was incredible to watch the fog (cold lake water below and warmer air above) come and go in cycles. For a few minutes, it looked like it was dissipating, but then it returned even thicker.
