The Trent-Severn is a very beautiful waterway and lots of fun to boat through. For this purpose however it may not be practical due to the 6ft limiting depth.

Wherever the destination on Lake Ontario, it would take a several days longer to transit the Trent-Severn Canal and a day or two longer on the Erie (formerly NYS Barge) Canal - not to mention the time and cost of unstepping the mast - than to go down the Welland Canal. Once at Port Weller, all destinations are within a day's sale, and the furthest, Kingston, is less than 180 miles.

Maybe they're going to Oswego.

Now that’s a well thought out answer!

At 64' you should have no problems. All bridges are at least 100' off the water. And most river marinas have drawbridges.

Hi! I need to get a sailboat delivered from Milwaukee to Lake Ontario. It's a 44' sloop with approx 64' mast height. I need to confirm that the trip can be made without having to de-rig (unstep the mast). Thanks in advance for any info!
