The Trent-Severn is a very beautiful waterway and lots of fun to boat through. For this purpose however it may not be practical due to the 6ft limiting depth.

Wherever the destination on Lake Ontario, it would take a several days longer to transit the Trent-Severn Canal and a day or two longer on the Erie (formerly NYS Barge) Canal - not to mention the time and cost of unstepping the mast - than to go down the Welland Canal. At 64' you should have no problems. All bridges are at least 100' off the water. And most river marinas have drawbridges.
