There i something really significant going on out there. The Innovator is now anchored up by Cheboygan. With that, I saw the Whitefish Bay downbound at Port Huron this morning and her bow was all iced up. Even her anchor pockets and anchors were encased in ice!

I think I goofed up on my comment. In retrospect, I think the Intrepid was already on her to Goderich from Lake Michigan and merely anchored in tawas bay on her way there. Conversely, the Innovator or Conveyor (off hand, not sure which), is enroute to, I think, Milwaukee and anchored off Alpena on her way west. Sorry for the false alarm.

Just a small bit off topic however, the Algoma Innovator I think has also been anchored near Alpena in Thunder Bay as well for the past couple days or so. The Algoma Intrepid I think departed from their anchorage late in the evening on February 3 enroute to Goderich now. Maybe they are waiting for an escort or assist into Goderich?

Possibly anchored due to high winds? One day this week I recall having some wind issues due to a very strong cold front that moved over the Great Lakes this week. It could be anchored too due to ice building up? Might be waiting for an assist or escort to wherever they may be headed to. These are just guesses though only on my part here.
