Checked out the Soo web cameras yesterday with my phone and they were working fine and dandy in the afternoon hours yesterday at least! Briefly saw the Speer and Kaye E. Barker on the cameras and each vessel respectively was both moving with NO stop and go motion. So, the issues must have been possibly at their end meaning the operators of the cameras as I don’t believe it had anything to do with me and what I was doing at my end anyway.

Ok so Bob says it’s working fine for him and Hugh says he’s having the same trouble. Just wonder IF it’s something at my end? Maybe I got too much stuff stored on my devices such as texts and photos that’s preventing and blocking me from getting a better view of the Soo. However, the Soo for now is the only camera and area I have seen this issue at for now anyway. Thanks.

Soo Locks Camera questions

Unread post by Denny »

Was just wondering for the past 2 days or so, anytime I’ve watched the Soo Locks Cams from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan I’ve been having problems and issues! It seems to be that when I would see a vessel moving, the cameras would then stop for a second and it would move and then stop again. It’s sort of like a stop and go type of thing that I am seeing and it’s been happening for at least 2-3 days. I know they were earlier having some technical issues with the cameras up at the Soo and maybe that’s what is going on? Has anyone else had or experienced these same issues when viewing the Soo web cams as I would like to know, is it something at my end that I’m doing or is it with their cameras? I don’t seem to notice the stop and go thing when viewing other areas and locations along with web cams such as Duluth and the St. Clair River. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You.
