Marquette is indeed a rare stop for the Anderson. Since returning to service in 2019, after its two-and-a-half-year layup, Thursday's visit was only the second to Marquette. The first occurred on October 19, 2019 when they loaded for Burns Harbor, IN. "This is a very unusual trip for her" was noted in the Port Reports that day.

No problem Bob and thanks about the Jackson at Sturgeon Bay as I never even knew she was there! As mentioned in other posts, I don’t read the News Page or the Port Reports as often as I used to now with my health and other things first above all the rest! Thanks again Bob my good friend. Denny thanks for your response, I thought maybe the anderson had a load of coal they were bringing in there but as you said they don’t take coal anymore. Might be that the anderson is helping out with some loads as the Herbert c jackson has been out of commission for about 3 or 4 weeks at sturgeon bay for repairs.

Thanks Guest appreciate that info as I did not know where the Anderson took that load from out of Drummond Island and also the fact that the Marquette ore load is headed to Indiana Harbor. Great job Guest with your information on all this again Thank You and much appreciated. Also and Yes, you are correct as Marquette is a very rare place to have and see a GLF boat load from. Not too long ago, can’t recall however I believe even the Presque Isle loaded from Marquette? Again, I don’t recall when that was but not too long ago now. Thanks again for the info.

I would think the Anderson would be going into Marquette to load an ore cargo up there. They usually don’t take any cargoes there to unload and I don’t believe there is any coal shipments that come into Marquettte anymore by vessel? Not sure if they still deliver any stone cargoes to Marquette so, they could be bringing in a stone cargo? Just a few days ago I saw on their AIS they had a Drummond Island destination! I don’t know if they loaded at Drummond and where they went to with that load? Even that is very odd and unusual as they don’t load very often at Drummond Island! The load in Drummond was dropped off in Marine City at Detroit Bulk. Marquette is a very rare destination for GLF, apparently cliffs want all the ore they can get, so Anderson loaded for Indiana Harbor at Marquette

I see the Arthur m anderson is heading for Marquette. Is she bringing a load there or picking one up? I think this is a rare occurrence as I don’t recall seeing any Great Lakes fleet ships in Marquette before.
