Was an east coast loading stop in`90s for both the original Algobay , and the ship the Mariner replaced , the late , great Algoport , when I sailed them relief . Nice place to visit to load in the summer , a bike trip ashore was always cool . But heading there this time of the year can turn nasty in the Gulf of St Lawrence .

Magdelin Islands, presumably for salt.

Algoma Mariner

Don't usually notice St. Lawrence Seaway traffic but the position of the Algoma Mariner this morning sparked curiosity. She appears to be heading out to sea. What's her destination?
