Two topics from me today...an explanation...
1) I commented a few days ago about accessing the cams and difficulties around I was having re:YouTube access to them.
I must thanks Guest for the reply to my post. Also, thanks for chiming in about the cam access through Boatnerd...which I just tried and found to be operable and provided my cam coverage as I have been accustomed to. Many thanks Denny!

2)I failed in my first post on the cam access issue to mention that I am located in Canada. I have been a boat nerd for many years. Typically and only heaven knows why; when not on Boatnerd site; I would access the cams through a very common search engine. It was very easy and quick and worked for me for years. If you look at my original post; it explains my experience.
Even tonight trying to access YouTube resulted in an immediate onscreen notice,”Update “Required” with click boxes for Quit” or “Update”. If you quit, it closes access. If you update, they require all sorts of your web identity details so you can buy their app! Egads!
Denny, once again BIG THANKS for reminding of the great accessibility via Boatnerd .com! Love what those cams remind me of when I see the November- December sailing weather conditions on them!

Exactly as Guest explained in his post and explanation steamboater. You can view the boatnerd cameras for free but sometimes you do have to watch the advertisements which aren’t very long. I can view them all for free and I have them all set up to watch. Usually I’ll be watching the ones from the Soo, Port Huron, St. Clair and Marine City and I haven’t noticed any major problems or issues with any of them. In fact, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of boatnerd for allowing us to see and view the cameras! They are a big and huge help and they really have helped me when I was very ill and sick last year and could not make it out to the St. Clair River along with some of this year. For anyone that cannot be there to see it live, up close and in person, the cameras are great just for that reason. Thank you boatnerds and all volunteers for putting together and creating the webcams for us!

Streamtime Live's paid monthly subscription is voluntary, not required. You can still access their webcams for free, although you might have to watch a paid advertisement.

Boatnerd's three webcams are free as well. Detroit, Port Huron and St. Clair.

Frustrating sad week. Just discovered that I can’t enjoy the webcams from streamtimeLive via YouTube without actually paying$$$ to join !
A real shame for this retired steamboater! Used to be until about 1.5 weeks ago I could just google whichever cam I wanted to view and it would be right here.
