The Frontenac had a brief stopover in Sarnia at the Government Dock and has since departed on February 14. They are headed back to Windsor to load more salt. As of 12:15 a.m. on February 15 they arrived at the Recors Anchorage on the 14th to anchor. They are probably awaiting for the Coast Guard to assist them to Windsor.

All of the answers to your questions and information on what you are looking for Ashland69 can be found on the News Page. The Frontenac indeed arrived on January 15 for lay up in Port Colborne. However, she departed lay up in Port Colborne on January 25 headed for Windsor where she will then load salt. The reason she is back out from lay up is due to the fact that the Whitefish Bay received bow damage as it was trying to get into Windsor and load salt around January 19 or so. Therefore, the Whitefish Bay never loaded in Windsor and instead proceeded to Sarnia then for Winter Lay Up at the Grain Elevator Dock. The purpose of bringing out the Frontenac is so that she can load the two salt cargoes that were intended for the Whitefish Bay. If you check the News Page out, there’s a recent story and photos of the Frontenac departing on January 25 from lay up in Port Colborne that explains everything you’re looking for. This has been covered on the Boatnerd news page. Whitefish Bay was damaged after hitting the dock in Windsor. Frontenac is coming out to cover her salt contracts.

I see according to Marine Traffic that FRONTENAC is upbound on Lake Erie (evening of Jan 25) headed for Windsor. Going for salt? Some time ago, I saw that WHITEFISH BAY was supposed to haul salt out Windsor, but then she "suddenly" appeared to go into layup a week ago. Anyone know what's up? Thanks in advance.
