I started a model of the Jodrey for Bill shortly before going through a divorce a few years ago. Unfortunately when I lost my house to the ex, I lost the ability to build my models. I mailed the half built kit back to Bill and never heard if he completed it. I was notified on FaceBook last week of Bills passing. Shocking and sad. I enjoyed our conversations.

Re: Bill Forsythe
I first "met" Bill through boatnerd around 2003. I had mentioned that I was going up to Port Huron to Frank Mayes lecture and was going to buy his new book, which was going to stamped with a "45th Anniversary of the Carl D Bradley- First Day Issue." He said he wished that he could go but it was too far, so I offered to pick up a book for him and he could pay me later. Mr. Mayes inscribed it to Bill ,and I mailed it to him. He was really happy to get the book. We kept in touch on a regular basis after that, exchanging boat photos, postcards and articles.
You're right, Pat, this is very sad. Imagine what his family is going through.

He gave me a whole set of plans for the Roy A. Jodrey. He knew this ship inside ans out.
You will be missed Bill.

I never met Bill, though we only lived about 15 miles apart. I certainly enjoyed his posts, and he was quite helpful to me a few times. I had heard about the incident in Fairport on the morning it happened, but didn't know it was Bill until the story appeared in the Democrat & Chronicle. Very very sad.

The Rochester newspaper says he jumped in front of the train. Its too bad he couldn't get the help he needed to avoid feeling that this was the only solution. I remember meeting him a few times at the boatnerd gatherings at the Welland
