Found one of the young 'uns! Looks like they've staked out territory on different cams. LAT escaped both ambushes!

1st. Wow! Well captured Boatkitten. Awsome shot. Thanks for sharing!

2nd. If Webster is attacking HCJ, the footers are in big trouble when Erie and Weaver grow up.

That's beautiful, even with a spider in it. Nice.

Here's my favorite webcam web shot from Port Sanilac. I call it, "Sol in a web."

Looks like Webster has some relatives down south in Green Bay... think they're Packer fans?

That's a riot I have always thought the spider on the cam was comical and kinda cute, but did not realize he had a name and a cult following. Perhaps Webster can capitalize on a merchandising deal.

again, the thing to keep in mind is that many of us have been on this site for about as long as it's been in existence. what's new to some people, like Webster on the webcam, is old hat to us. and there were days when we had more fun talking about him and his friends than we did about boats. Obviously, the boat traffic was slow on those days, and the Soo cams were in real time, not delayed. So we had to come up with ways to amuse ourselves waiting for the next boat to arrive.

Hope nobody took offense, I just have always been afraid of spiders. I hurt myself trying to get away from them, but to each his/her own. When I took those pic.s with your friend in them, it never occurred to me that someone would like and enjoy them. I'm glad if someone did.

She has an aversion to 8-legged creatures, too. I look at it this way, Webster "safely" put, capturing mosquitoes and other flying nuisances or (as Lady Pirate has threatened to do on numerous occasions) felled by Raid and the nuisances left free to pester us. Another way to think of it: Have you ever been chased by a spider? They're after more managable fare than humans and bite only in defense.
