Better visability, and the 3 knot current at St Clair would make it very difficult to cover the hull effectively. Divers basicly drift with the current in the river unless there is something big (large rock or wreckage) to hide behind.

Why is it that the Knutsen had to go up into Lake Huron and anchor for inspection? Would it not be a lot eaiser just to inspect her at St. Clair?
