I may have expressed myself in a way that looked like there was a boatload of workers on the Canadian Prospector, it was the Gordon C Leitch I was reffering to, Incidently, the latter has sailed from Montreal this am at 0747, due at Port Weller around noon Sept 4thGuest wrote:oldseadog wrote:The Canadian Prospector and the Agawa Canyon have their names and stack logos painted over, that means their done or have been sold for other means. So, what is the fate of the Canadian Prospector? In "Laid Up Lakers" it is said she is listed as leaving Montreal on Dec. 28th. Another contributor to that thread said likely "at the end of a towrope." However, as oldseadog notes there is a "boatload" of workers on theProspector. It is way too early for them to be sealing her up for an overseas scrap tow - especially if it is on Dec. 28th. So what is going on? Has she been sold, or is she coming out?

Re: Canadian Prospector
Re painted out names and stack logos, so Sauniere has not had her stack painted over, ths stack logo on the latter belongs to who she was chartered for some time ago, Halifax has not changed , these two vessels are in the upper harbor in the port of Montreal.

Re: Canadian Prospector
Transport Canada registry shows Agawa Canyon as "This vessel is no longer registered in Canada." Canadian Prospector is still listed under Upper Lakes.

Any chance you could post some photos?oldseadog wrote:The Canadian Prospector and the Agawa Canyon have their names and stack logos painted over, that means their done or have been sold for other means. The fourth vessel at this dock the Algoisle, has not had her name or stack logo painted over, what fate awaits her?

Re: Canadian Prospector
As old seadog mentioned, Port of Montreal still marks Canadian Prospector's status as layup, not the case with the Gordon C. Leitch. Another telling bit of information: if there is any destination info. entered on the ship's AIS unit. Gordon C. Leitch's AIS was transmitting the other day and listed her destination as Port Weller on 2 September 2010. Next time you see the Prospector show up on AIS, see if there's anything similar listed under destination.

Re: Canadian Prospector
I would not go to much by the AIS, Petrolia Desgagnes is in long term layup and her AIS shows continually. Some days the Gordon C Leitch's AIS shows up then not, the latter I would think may be able sail again. Canadian Prospector's AIS is not showing now, she is marked for long layup.
Re: Canadian Prospector
They might be, I noticed the ship is now showing up on the AIS map.
