Guest, do you live in the Soo area, or is there a web site that carries the radio traffic of the locks?

Meaning that the time you see the boat on the camera, you have to either add or subtract an hour and that was the actual time the boat was at the locks. I don't know if there is still an hour delay or not as it may be longer now but, at one time this is what it was regarding the delays.
You are correct Denny. The delay is about one hour.

thanks for the replies, and that seems to be the case. I waited awhile and later the vessels came through.

The Soo Locks Web Cams are on a planned delay by the Corps. I don't remember how long the delay is, but that is the reason that you will not see the boat that you are hearing on the scanner on the Cams. I believe this has to do with homeland security and has been going on for some time now.

The locks cams are not up to the minute live. They have a time delay built in.
