Adanac is a tug owned by Purvis. It and the W.I. Scott Purvis locked upbound last night. They told Soo Control that they were going to meet the tow of the Kuber.

My hunch is that the barge James L. Kuber was left at the anchorage and that the Adanac III may be assisting with some sort of inspection or repairs, or just making sure the barge doesn't shift. The tug Victory went to the dock at the steel mill, while the Anglian Lady went straight to the locks per AIS sightings.

The Adanac lll is a tug, not a pilot boat. The fact that it is showing on AIS as Pilot Boat is probably just a button press mistake in the wheelhouse?

Adanac III pilot boat

I see that the pilot boat Adanac III went up above the soo locks Sunday night. What is it up to? No ocean ships this time of the year? As of Monday morning it is on the AIS above Birch Point.
