Re: Dutch Runner
Dutch Runner is in the Port of Cleveland at this time, what will she load there?
Re: Dutch Runner
The only info on her going to Cleveland is from the Port of Cleveland's schedule. They show her eta as the 22nd. Not real sure if she's headed there from reading this thread the past few days. Cleveland's site has been pretty accurate and they have had only one boat not show up that was listed this season. So, I'm kind of in a "wait and see" mode until something else pops up.

Re: Dutch Runner
The Quebec City cargo was put on hold while she carried animal feed to Owen Sound. According to a friend who works on her they are supposed to then load at Owen Sound for Quebec City. Orders change. I haven't heard anything about her going to Cleveland, and I'm fairly certain I would have been told if she was headed there.oldseadog wrote:Dutch Runner now heading for Owen Sound, when I thought she was suppose to load for Quebec City from Thunder Bay.

After Owen Sound, she is heading for Cleveland.

Re: Dutch Runner
I am not doubting your knowledge, she can load cereal for repositioning ,I was just stating that she is a very small carrier, we were smaller than her and we loaded cereal products for Montreal back in the 50's. Its that today.s vessels take 4-5 times what they load in a vessel the size of the Dutch Runner. I spoke to the crew of the Dutch Runner a few weeks ago while she was secured at sec 25 in Montreal, they told me they were waiting for orders.Seahound wrote:As I wrote, it is solely a positioning cargo, meant to get her back to the east coast of Canada, I work for a company associated with this move, and I am quite sure those are her orders.oldseadog wrote:Dutch Runner not much bigger than the old canallers, she is 275ft X 53ft beam can't load to much cereaL products in such a small vessel.

Where did the cargo come from?

Re: Dutch Runner
Deseronto? there is no where a ship anywhere near that size could fit there. Is there another place by the same name?oldseadog wrote:I believe she was up in Hamilton, not sure if she went further, Dutch Runner left Montreal in ballast for Deseronto, Ontario, now she is heading for Thunder Bay.

Re: Dutch Runner
The farthest Dutch Runner has ever come, was to Wharf 2 of the Welland Canal, as Northup said she is headed for Thunder Bay, she has project cargo for that port, then she will load wheat for Quebec, a positioning cargo the latter is.oldseadog wrote:I believe she was up in Hamilton, not sure if she went further, Dutch Runner left Montreal in ballast for Deseronto, Ontario, now she is heading for Thunder Bay.
