I am delighted to see the News Photo Gallery back today with this note:

"We are still about a week behind on updates, please continue to send pictures and updates. We hope to get back on a daily schedule."

The Boatnerd public gallery is still available for anyone to upload their photos to. That is a perfect way to volunteer, since you do all the work, deciding how many photos to upload and how to caption them. And I suspect it might take a huge strain off the volunteers for this site.

Unfortunately it has been 11 days since June 4th since there has been an update to the daily News Photo Gallery shame this is happening to this great site.

If possible is there anyone who could volunteer to update the News Photo Gallery page every day or two as per usual? Thank you in advance!

As I mentioned in a different post, I would love to send more of my photos to boatnerd but, most were taken earlier in the month and I too have been very busy lately. I have not had any spare time to update and make any adjustments as far as straightening the photos out from my own collection. Wish I could do more also but, time is just not on my side lately with other commitments.

My hat's off to the volunteers that run this site. Its hard to believe that just 20 years ago, it was necessary to wait for several weeks to months to be informed of the happenings around the lakes. Back then, I anxiously awaited the arrival of my next issue of Lake Log Chips, DMHS, Telescope, and the Inland Seas quarterly. Today, we are usually informed of the news as it happens. This site is far better than some of the "paid' sites I belong too for a variety of subjects I use for my profession. I, for one, don't mind waiting a few days for the volunteers to have time to update the site. I appreciate all of the effort put forth by the maintainers of this site, and would like to say "thank you very much."

I can only imagine the amount of time and energy it takes to keep the BoatNerd.com web site up and running.

This was on the What's New Page: "The good weather has kept us busy away from the computer with family time and yard work." They said they hope to be caught up this week on the FB page.

In past years, we used to enjoy News Photos almost EVERY Day during the shipping season but it seems that perhaps 'cutbacks' or other reductions have lessened our Boatnerd viewing enjoyment. Yet another glaring example of "you get what you pay for", personally, I enjoy the great pix we get. :o)
