Hi,
The "Peninsula" is alive and well and working regularly here in Thunder Bay assisting ships in and out of the harbour.
About a month ago she made a longer trip to rescue the "Ojibwae" I think, who lost her engine around Passage Island. The "Peninsula" caught up to her off Terrace Bay and towed her into Thunder Bay

Just thought I'd share pics of my latest project. The real Peninsula is based in Thunder Bay but I don't know if its currently operating or sitting idle due to age/maintenance issues. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. :) I have more work to do to finish it, but it's in running condition.

Probably.I have seen photos of her with a large 'W' on the smokestack.

at one time wasnt this tug owned by western engineering which was owned by paterson

I'm going to call the local sign place and see if they sell large sheets of styrene or Sintra- might be even cheaper!

fine job you did i believe those for sale signs (plastic) are made by klassen bronze in new hamburg

The hull is wooden plank-on-frame with a fiberglass coating. The superstructure, bulwarks, and pretty much everything else are made of plastic sheets, specifically those For Sale signs you get at the hardware store.

Handsome job -- particularly like the underwater body painting job - the faded stripes looks like ribs are showing.
