Re: Zelada Desgagnes destination
A few of Desgagnes vessels are reflagged every year, Anna, Camilla, Rosaire, Zelada, Sedna, etc. a change of crew also comes with the reflagging, this is to save money while the vessels operate outside of Canada, in the Summer months these vessels travel within Canada and have to be flagged Canadian, it is similar to the Jones act in that aspect. Only difference is, the ships don't have to be built IN CanadaRaymond wrote:Reflagging from what country? When she entered the Seaway
in early November along with her fleetmate Rosaire A. Desgagnes,
Seaway had both listed as Canadian flagged yet under Ocean for
Ocean Vessels. Help, as I am confused with this and also, Seaway
lists the new Algoma's a.e. Guardian and Discovery as Ocean yet
both of them are flagged Canadian also. Am I missing something?

Departed Soo under Barbados flag, with foreign crew bound for Duluth to load for overseas.

Re: Zelada Desgagnes destination
Thanks Scott,
She seems to be following the pattern the Catherine Desgagnes did, Toledo or Ashtabula befor heading to Marinette, I suppose she will load corn for Long Pond, Newfoundand or a cereal product for an overseas port, all speculation for the time being. Normally she would be reflagged foreign for the Winter months and return Canadian in the Spring. More speculation on my part.

Re: Zelada Desgagnes destination
It looked like she came out of a Lake Erie port Friday afternoon, so I assume it would have been Ashtabula. Also the Desgagnes boats have been known to lighter at Ashtabula or Toledo before proceeding to Green Bay or Marinette to finish unloading.

Did the Zelada Desgagnes stop at Ashtabula ?.SBest wrote:Green Bay for sure on Monday morning, hopefully stopping in Marinette, before that, but not sure. I'm thinking they are stopping somewhere because they'll be to GB way before Monday morning at this rate...
Re: Zelada Desgagnes destination
Thanks Scott. I was hoping she'd be by the Soo.

She's upbound in lower Lake Huron. Anyone know where she's going?
