Re: agawa canyon scrap picture
I don't think its the Baia Sardinia that the person is interested in, its the Naval vessel beside her, also Baia Sardinia's name has been painted out so she is done, the Naval vessel lookls like a supply ship or oiler.

The vessel next to the Agawa Canyon is indeed the ferry Baia
Sardinia (Sardinia Nova-06, Espresso Olbia-82, Tor Anglia-76), 11,204/1966. She arrived at Aliaga, Turkey on Sep 6th 2010 for scrapping by Yazici Gemi Sokum AS. Subsequently reported she might be used as an accommodation ship for Chinese workers employed on the construction of a new power station - info taken from Marine News, journal of the World Ship Society

If you look, at the photos that Selim San posted on October 25, the name of the ferry can be seen, Baia Sar, the only vessel, I can find, that fits this, would be a ferry called Baia Sardinia, which served in the Mediterranean Sea, this vessel went for scrap at Aliaga this year, this would be the vessel.oldseadog wrote:I sent an e-mail to the photographer at Izmir, who travels to Aliaga every Wednesday for photos, hopefully he will respond with an answer to your question.
