Algoma Spirit did sea trials/hold cleanout today on Lake Ontario. Returned to Hamilton around 1500 with a bit of a port list, and aborted entering the canal, going to anchor off the bridge. When she does enter the harbour, she will be going to pier 26 for more work.

Will she be making one more trip to Hamilton after unloading the grain load she's heading for in Thunder Bay right now, or will she be going directly to Toronto afterwards?

On the radio at arrival they said they would be doing more repairs after unloading. Did not catch anything about the reason etc. though.

The Spirit may just wait for the Algocape to finish with both cranes, or one crane will move to work on the Spirit. It has gone both ways in the past.
Two tugs are with the Algoma Spirit heading to Dofasco dock presently

Is there any word on the Algocape's fate at the end of the season? There can't be to many more Hamilton trips left before season end, and weather has not been particularly photogenic.

She slowed overnight and in the Seaway to allow Algocape to get a head start at the unloading dock. This is a common occurrence when two straightdeckers are due at Dofasco around the same time.

The Algocape has just moored at Dofasco, Algoma Spirit no where in sight. Algoma Spirit now 40.0 n miles east of Burlington Piers.

Algocape is presently at Morrisburg up bound 18.5 n miles above the Algoma Spirit, the latter is west of Cornwall about to enter Snell lock. All three Algoma recently named vessels, Discovery, Guardian, and the Spirit are all between Prescott and Cornwall. a beautiful day to photograph them.
