Thank you for your kind words, Guest. Other than hearing the news of the Carl Bradley tragedy, the Great Lakes were only a geographic feature on planet Earth until 2003. And until I retired to the St. Clair River area in 2011, it was a special occasion to be up close and personal with the passing vessels. But it's a joy and I hope to continue as long as I am able.

I'm having way too much fun -- again! Still, I keep up with house and yard work, which includes blanketing the rose bush and bleeding hearts Friday night because of a Freeze Warning over night! (Photos were taken late yesterday afternoon and through the day today.)

Been having the same issues with the wind up here. Can hear it whistling by my window. Just said on the weather a chance of light snow in the western UP and NW WI.

Can't remember wind as constant as we've been having lately. All I have to do is go to the river and point the camera at an approaching ship and I have to grab hold or lean against something to maintain balance. Reminds me (not pleasant either) of the years living in Kansas! Photos are from yesterday afternoon and this morning.

You found so many good memories in just a few photos, Garbear! Replies like yours are why I enjoy "shooting ships" and posting the photos. Memories for some, and (maybe not so much with all the advances in personal communication) for others a way to see where their mariner is/was on a specific day.

All I can say is, Praise the Lord for giving me (totally lacking in technical matters and having no one to ask for help) insight on solving my computer problem.
To celebrate, here are vessels passing my lens since Sunday.

When you are up and running again we all will enjoy again so until then relax and enjoy on your own Appreciate all you have sent in

Recent days have seen a virtual parade of ship traffic on the St. Clair River, and a new tanker at the Shell Dock, but due to computer issues needing professional technical support, I am unable to post photos TFN -- so I don't even carry the camera with me now.

Still, managed a few choice photos.
Want to thank the homeowner (where the Edison Parkway curves back uphill), for displaying his huge Interlake flag as Lee A. Tregurtha passed on her way to AK/Rouge and (hopefully) temporary lay-up.

What a roller-coaster weather day! Easy to see that from the photos, but they can't show the strong winds that blasted in from the NE, making my parked car sway from side-to-side...or the way the temperature plunged from 60° to 43° in less than eight minutes this afternoon!

Two vessels passed my lens today.

From sunny to cloudy to snow traffic on the St. Clair River keeps moving. A few of the ships are apparently camera shy and pass in the dark hours ;)
