Well, I missed her! Messy weather and loading at the far reaches of civilization, so I never got over there. Got her in the sunshine last trip, so that will have to do!

Looks like she has left TBay around 14:30 Dec 24.

Seaway closes the 31st, so unless she goes into permanent layup or is scrapped in Thunder Bay, there is probably no reason for her to return there.

She's being shown as here in Thunder Bay, although it's very foggy and just started snowing heavily...not great conditions for photos, like last time she was here! Looks like she's going for the Mission river entrance.

Does anyone know if this is in fact the last trip here, or will she have another one after this? Would like to get some photos of her last trip ever! Thanks!

Guess I'll have to photograph her again in Thunder Bay! Thought last trip was "the last trip"! :-)

Heads Up boatnerds! She is back in the Seaway again as I type this and it heading back upbound as well. Unless she has a change of orders in loading, I believe she is bound for Thunder Bay to load another cargo of wheat. If you missed her going downbound the last time, you better not miss the boat and drop the ball this time as it may be your last and final chance to see her. You can track her movements and times on the Seaway's website as that should give people an idea of when she will be at the Welland Canal Locks.

My dad worked on the montrealais in the 60s and 70s. everytime she would sail through montreal if i had the time i would stop near the mercier bridge and watch her sail through. I will try and get pictures and see her one more time.

That is great news! At least for any of us that may have missed her at least we will get another chance to see this classic lady before she goes to sleep one last and final time. Heads up boatnerds as you will get one last final chance to see this classic laker and you better not miss the boat or drop the ball this time!

Yes that is indeed true and she will be "headed back and upbound for Thunder Bay" when finished unloading.

Port of Montreal website has them "unloading their grain or wheat cargo in Montreal and then lists them as heading back on up to Thunder Bay, Ontario presumably for another load." Has anyone heard if this is true or not and if she still has one more load left to take on before her retirement and end this season? Thank You.

Probably around 20-22 hours from now. Currently is 7:25 p.m. Eastern Time.

So if this is not her last and final voyage and she is due to load one more cargo, am I correct in guessing then it would be iron ore from Port Cartier to Hamilton unload and then lay-up afterward? I figure that this would be how she would do it, and then next year in 2015 she would get towed from Hamilton to Port Colborne for scrapping? Unless of course she lays up in Port Colborne somehow this winter after unloading in Hamilton? Any further information is appreciated on this. Thanks.

At the very least, I doubt she'll be making another downbound trip down the Seaway with grain after this one. Doesn't seem like that there's enough time.

If she has another load scheduled, I imagine it will be iron ore back into the lakes after she unloads her cargo in Montreal, or another load of cement.

This all but assuredly will be her last downbound trip on the St. Lawrence Seaway under steam.
