I grew up in Michigan along the banks of the Saginaw River and was always a Detroit Tigers fan but I'd also tune in and watch the Cubs play also. Then I grew up got married and had a daughter and moved to Indianapolis Indiana and found myself following the Cubs more then anything and even got a tattoo with the team Logo on my right arm. I still follow the Tiger's since they were what I grew up with but I'm equally a Cubs fan too. I hope to go to Wrigley Field this summer when the Cubs play Detroit. My wife asks who ill be routing for and I told her I'll be happy with whoever wins but if it came down to the World Series I'd have to go with the Cubs. Whenever they win it all there's going to be a huge party all over the usa since everywhere there's Cubs fans.

looks like a few fans agree that baseball has to be sped up a bit. maybe 3-2 ball would help. 3 balls and 2 strikes. how about allowing the hitter step out of the box only two times per bat ? what other ideas do fans have to speed up the game ? i did not intend to offend any curling fans with my earlier post but - gee - watching a rock slide slowly along on the ice seems a bit boring. on the other hand - the sweepers seem to enjoying their part in the sport !

I have some ideas to liven up baseball:

1) Allow a team to take as many of its 27 outs as it wants during any given inning. Got a rally going? Use six or seven of your outs to keep it going.

2) Allow more than one runner on a base. Makes the game more challenging. What could be more exciting than a suicide squeeze? How about one with three runners trying to steal home on the same throw?

Well for the first time in seven years Justin Verlander will not be pitching a Tigers Home Opener. This year they made the switch to David Price instead. I am sure that there will be very many folks not too happy with that decision especially fans that had tickets for the Tigers Home Opener this year. As edm said, I am also looking forward to another Ho-Hum season with this team. I would also have to say another boring sport and sorry if I offend anyone here to watch on TV is golf. I find myself watching some of it and later either falling asleep or turning it off completely. Anyone agree?

I am a Tiger fan true and blue but, last year I did not follow them or get involved with them as I had to many other important issues to be concerned about and did not get to a single game as well in 2014. This year I do not plan to follow them either and I have been to two opening day games in 1990 & 1991 at Old Tiger Stadium. Fun right? No way, not if you don't mind sitting in the bleachers and freezing your tail off at 30 degrees and the next year getting all wet, chilly and damp from the rain! I vowed never again to go to another Opening Day game and to this day I haven't plain and simple. I agree with edm's comments as well as they need to make changes and speed up baseball. Games are way too long and they could also shorten the season as 162 games is far too many IMO. Also, I agree with edm as I also get tired from watching games.

From here in London Ont I cheer for the 'Mighty Detroit Tigers!'

being a hockey fan, baseball puts me to sleep by the 2nd inning. they have to do something to speed up the game. maybe 3-2 ball or something to keep the fans awake. they continue to allow the hitter to step out the the box between pitches - adjust his gloves - wave to the fans- call their stock broker and call home before they are ready to take the next pitch. the tiger's pitching will once again be their down-fall. looking forward to another ho-hum season with this club. the only sport with less activity is curling - now there is a real sleeper sport !
