Two mornings' worth of traffic on the St. Clair River. Too dark to photograph American Century as I watched her make the return trip to Superior last night, but was delighted with the salute she gave!

Very much typical October weather today with thunderstorms, heavy rains, & strong winds overnight and occasional showers all day.

One of those, "If you don't like the weather now..." days along the St. Clair River with clouds, fog, drizzle, rain, clouds, peeks of sun, and more clouds!

A brisk wind from the SE added chop to the water, but didn't slow the traffic.

Light activity on the St. Clair today. All the action is at the Soo!

The lower pilothouse does have the look of a laker pilothouse.

Saw a lot of ship traffic and met some delightful people along the way today.

Busy weekend for me, but managed to be there to see these three.

Its one thing to look across the river to the Corunna or Sarnia Fuel Docks, and quite another to see a freighter close-up, being fueled from a barge as I did this morning at Marine City.

Very unusual day. The one ship I made a special trip to the river for simply did not photograph well in the morning light, but plenty of traffic made up for my disappointment -- and I got a good shot in the late afternoon.

A murky and increasingly windy day along the St. Clair River brought these vessels past my camera.

Sightings from the past three days. As the old saying puts it, "My get-up-and-go has got up and gone!" Just blahs and allergies combined, but nothing terminal. I am constantly reminded how blessed I truly am, and living close to the river where I can watch and photograph the passing ships is a major blessing!

That's quite a parade! Thanks for sharing. Sounds like we won't see the Junior pushing the Joe Thompson much longer.

A nearly steady flow of traffic on the St. Clair River today, and I got only a few of them -- the last six within 30 minutes, and staying in one place!

Although there was plenty of traffic on the river yesterday, two freighters and a tanker were my "take" for the day!
