A variety of ship traffic on a busy Sunday, on the St. Clair River!

The sun, the clear blue skies, the water, the boaters, and...the ships!

Made it a point to photograph Industrial Swift last evening, and since today's morning traffic was fairly heavy, I captured those passages, as well.

Funny how a well-planned day gets totally rearranged by a parade of ship traffic, but that's part of the fun of living near the St. Clair River!

Ah, cooler, drier weather! First thing this morning, I got out my eco-friendly reel mower and brought the grass and weeds under control. That way I felt no guilt as I began intercepting and photographing ships on the St. Clair River.

Yes, I was in the church parking lot -- small woman with short hair driving a red car, and wearing a red top with white shorts. I watched Great Republic pass Santa Maria and could see HCJ (bow & pilot house), at the aggregates dock. Sounds like we may have been there at the same time.
Not looking forward to the next few days, but we'll survive, like always!

Great and excellent photos yet again Bookworm as you simply just amaze me with your photos and your talent for photography each and every time I see your photos. So you got Santa Maria in Marine City? Very interesting as I was there too when she passed by and I wonder then maybe if our paths may have crossed then while I was out there in Marine City yesterday photographing the Tall Ships? I spent most of my time there and saw the CSL Assiniboine downbound and then later saw and got the Great Republic there as well. Also saw the Jackson while they unloaded limestone in Marine City. Luckily the weather wasn’t too bad and I was able to be out there. Keep up the great work and job with your photos Bookworm as it’s always a pleasure to see and view them! Take care my friend and stay cool and safe this weekend as well.

What a delight to see a good number of the Tall Ships on their way to the Bay City Tall Ship Festival this weekend. There must be a reason, but none of them were displaying their sails, either on the river or after entering Lake Huron. I've grouped the tall Ships and freighters separately.

Today featured fleet-mates, and a few interesting surprises.

Hi Bookworm and nice and excellent photos as always. I agree with you as I too am loving these cooler days with moderate humidity as well. Sure seems good to get a break from the AC and have the windows all opened up again. Definitely not looking forward though to the heat and the humidity returning again next week. Glad to see you are getting out and photographing the ship traffic. I too was at the river twice during this week on both Tuesday and Friday. Saw 10 ships on Tuesday along with 11 on Friday. Added both the Mesabi Miner and American Spirit to my list of 1,000 footers seen in 2019 and I’m now up to 9 of them for the season. Enjoy looking at your photos Bookworm and keep up the good work with them and thanks for sharing them with us. Take care.

Lovin' these cooler days with moderate humidity. I don't have to be indoors with the AC running, in order to breathe and there's a refreshing breeze along the river.

Amazing how many ships I caught this afternoon -- and how many more slipped past before I got to the river.

An absolutely perfect afternoon to photograph ships, listen to an outdoor band concert at the Fr. Gratiot Lighthouse, or be astounded at how much more Marysville Riverwalk shoreline the St. Clair River has claimed!
