Thanks everyone for your comments and moving them from the Michigan and Michigan State 2016 post. This is now better as far as "staying on the subject of the Lions in 2016." I have read all of your comments and you are all right and correct about the Lions and their issues and problems this season. Don't even watch them anymore myself as like for instance yesterday here in the Detroit area, they had the Lions as the only game here on TV for timeslot at 1:00 p.m. which to me is a disgrace. It has happened that way just about every week thanks to the Lions and the NFL as they block out the other games and put the Lions only on TV and to think, we the fans get cheated every week out of some better NFL games and football. This has been going on for years and I can't wait until the Lions finally have their bye week and Thanksgiving weekend as I will finally be able to watch somebody at 1 P.M. other than the Lions! They are lucky to not be playing New England and Tom Brady this season along with Denver and Raiders. The Lions would get crushed by all three of these teams and especially with the defense that Denver has shown this season. Raiders are also starting to look better as well. Oh well there is next year as usual for the Lions and a few of their fans which I consider myself not!

That is a pretty rough December schedule. I see them beating the Bears pretty easily; they just keep getting worse, and now Hoyer is out and Cutler is back in - probably not a good thing for them. New Orleans is really starting to show improvement. They just beat Seattle, so I would think that Brees will be ready to tee off on the Lions defense the way Luck, Rodgers, and Keenum have this year.

They have a chance of winning all of those games except at Dallas, but realistically, they will probably only get 2 or 3 wins in that stretch.

One more thought - what was with the onside kick on Sunday? That had to be one of the most boneheaded decisions I've seen in a while. Osweiler has been pathetic at moving the ball this season, but Caldwell didn't trust his defense to hold him out of the end zone with 3 minutes left? The way Stafford moves the ball late in games, he should have had nothing to worry about. Even if the Lions got the ball back with 40 seconds left, they could have marched down and scored. I just don't understand it.

Considering that the last time the Lions were any good, some Texan named Layne was the quarterback, I have to agree with you.

I have lost all faith in the team and will refuse to watch them. Half century of failure has done nothing to promote new leadership or management and I knew from the start after Ford Sr died a few years ago that nothing new was going to happen. To heck with them and their franchise.

Seeing I live in Duluth we get the Vikings every time they're on TV. They looked good until they played the Eagles. They did not look good at all in that game. Sam Bradford had a terrible game. I hate to say it, but I think they'll roll over the Lions next Sunday. Mike Zimmer has them playing a real stout defense.
With the Vikings not playing today we got the Lions for our noon game. They left a lot to be desired, especially the coaching. I can't figure out at all why Caldwell didn't challenge that fumble by the Texans wide receiver. Even my son said the Lions got a terrible call on that one and he's a big Vikings fan.
A lot of work has to be done before the Lions challenge for anything. Some talent on the team, but not enough to contend.

I have decided to start a new thread here about the Lions as we got a bit sorry to say and I deeply apologize for that off subject when talking about the Lions on the Michigan and Michigan State thread. So, that is why I decided to start a new thread here on the Lions to not cause any confusion and get off subject. Anyway looks like the Lions are back to their old losing ways again as they lost at Houston today to the Texas 20-13. The Lions now are 4-4 and are in third place in the NFC North behind Green Bay which lost a real heartbreaker and close one to Atlanta 33-32. So, now the Lions have to play Minnesota twice within 18 days first on November 6 at Minnesota and again on Thanksgiving Day at Detroit. Minnesota is one of the best teams right now at 6-1 I think is their record and they play at Chicago on Halloween night. My money is on the Vikes to win that game and the Lions will have no chance and prayer next week at Minnesota and again at home on Turkey Day to the Vikes. Their schedule for December is brutal so check it out as I have their December schedule listed below with dates and games.

December 4 at New Orleans
December 11 Chicago (remember they lost at Chicago earlier)
December 18 at New York Giants (could be a tough game here?)
December 26 at Dallas (Monday Night, Dallas is really good)
January 1 Green Bay

So, there you have the Lions remaining schedule and before I forget they do play home to Jacksonville on November 20 after their bye week on November 13. The Minnesota games though are going to be brutal for them. Like I said on my posts on the MSU and Michigan game about the Lions, they need to find ways to win games and be more consistent especially with power and elite NFL teams such as Green Bay, Minnesota and Dallas for example as they have to dominate and beat them in every way and category. Take a look at how New England with Tom Brady and Belichick have dominated the Bills through the years and Yes they again beat Buffalo today badly 41-25 in Buffalo. Point is, New England has had Buffalo's number for years and Yes I also know that they lost to Buffalo 16-0 earlier but that was without Brady who was still serving his suspension then. The Lions need to dominate the Pack along with the Vikings and Dallas the way that New England does it to Buffalo and the Lions have to somehow find ways of winning their Division the NFC North. The Lions have yet to win the North as all three teams the Pack, Vikes and Bears have all at least once one this division but never the Lions since it went to the North.
