Most likely going to stay at Conneaut to await room at Port Colborne for scrapping. I believe that once the S. T. Crapo and Ojibway are gone, or sufficiently demolished, the Blough will be moved but given the lateness of the season, the actual tow to the scrapyard may not happen until next spring. Perhaps the move to Conneaut is part of a deal made with the scrappers or just a move by CN/GLF pending a scrap sale. Either way, it eliminates the dock fees at Sturgeon Bay. It will be sad to see this one go, but I have to sadly admit that over the past several years I have begun losing what thus far has been a lifelong interest in the Great Lakes shipping hobby.

conneeaut isnt very far across lake erie from MRC in port colborne. ontario.

The Roger Blough was moved to the face at Bay Ship yesterday. The Cason J Callaway is now at berth 9.

They are taking the blough to conneaut because they own the dock there and there will be no dockage fees then like they are paying at sturgeon bay. If she is going to scrap it will be port colborne when they get room for her and it’s just a short tow from conneaut to there. They are not going to scrap the ship at conneaut or use it for storage. Basically free parking that’s all.

If they are taking the Blough to Conneaut for dismantling, where would they scrap it? At the old coal dock?

Blough destination seems to be Conneaut, Ohio. 2 tugs waiting to tow.

The rear anchor was pulled up today and put on her deck and she is in ballast . Also workers on the deck today.

If she goes for scrap to Port Colborne approximately how much would the salvage yard pay for the Blough in scrap price?

It has been suggested that she will be going to be tied up at the CN dock in Escanaba. That would eliminate the docking fees.

Rumors

perhaps they were painting a "white towing line" on the bow so when the vessel is being towed the tug can observe if the towing vessel is on an even keel or taking on water? the mississagi had them painted on the bow for the tow to the canadian sault. next stop port colborne?

Today there was an inspection cage suspended by a crane on the front of the Blough. One person was on the ship and one was in the cage and they were inspecting the davit on the front of the ship . There were also workers mid ship and I couldn’t tell what they were doing . Then the Candice tug showed up at the yard this morning. Has anyone heard of anything going on with this boat ?
