The Farmers Almanac said last winter was going to be colder and snowier than average, and I they are saying the same for this coming winter.

El nino years in summer usually bring warm stable weather, not so much when it goes into winter. Its most likely going to be a dry cooler winter with an El nino year but they are also known for kicking up some severe winter weather. On another note the Farmers Almanac says it will be a cold and snowy winter in the Great Lakes region. Lets hope that they are wrong but come to find out on one of the Weather Channels shows they are right about 80% of the time. Lets hope not, I hate shoveling snow.

Just watched this evening on WXYZ TV Channel 7 along with their weather reports and from their sources with NOAA weather, they have now given a prediction of the upcoming winter for 2014-15. According to the reports, the Detroit/Metro area along with most all of Michigan will see a warmer than normal winter with much less precipitation than last year's winter and it will be less harsh and not as severe as last winter was. Also, the Detroit area gets on average around 42 inches of snow give or take. They also said that this warmer winter pattern (if it happens), is caused by the El Nino weather deal that is currently taking place. So I ask all of you boatnerds, "What do you think and what are your TV News stations and papers reporting on the upcoming winter season?" Most all of us I am sure will agree, after last year's winter we definitely need a break from Mother Nature. Just one thing to ask and that is "What records then can we break in the winter though of 2014-15?" Last year we set the mark for the most snow in a winter and how about the least amount of snow in any one given winter? That would be just fine by me if that happens. One last thing, we also set a record this summer for "Most consecutive perfect weekends without rain in the Detroit area for a while at least." What other weather records can we top and reach this fall and into the winter as well? Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
