Sad news indeed. Had the pleasure of meeting Gordy years ago at a Flags game and what a treat it was. He will be missed God bless Mr. Hockey.

Amen Rob as I couldn't agree with you more! A very sad and also tough week in sports with the loss of Ali and now Mr. Hockey as well. A bit off subject but, also the news of DTE shutting down the St. Clair Power Plant also came as a little bit of a surprise and a shock as well! Yeah okay people so shoot me if you want as I know that I should have foreseen this news coming the way that the EPA and other "freakheads about the coal industry want to shut it down and having nothing to do with it period!" Should have seen this one coming the way the Canadian plants have all but shut down their facilities as far as receiving coal shipments. Point is, you knew it was coming to the USA but, you just didn't want to admit and see and hear the news this soon and early if I am making any sense? Granted we did have some good news with Cliffs this week as that is just what the Shipping Industry need as before that news broke, things were looking pretty grim and gloom IMO for 2016 and the shipping industry. Let's hope the second half of 2016 starts to look up and keep on going up as we need more good stuff to happen!

A Sad Day in Hockeytown and Hockey World

In case you may have missed it or have not heard the news yet, this is a very sad day in Hockeytown and Hockey World as the man known as Mr. Hockey Gordie Howe has passed away at the ripe age of 88 years! Gordie has suffered with health issues for a while and also had a stroke or two as well in the past few years. It will surely not be the same at Red Wings games and Hockeytown as well when they talk and mention of his passing. Thanks Gordie for the wonderful memories and the Stanley Cup titles and also a great and wonderful career you had here in the Motor City and Detroit as well. You brought Hockey to Detroit and we will forever be greatful for that and you will be missed by all of your beloved and diehard fans. God Bless you Gordie Howe a.k.a. Mr. Hockey! 3 Long and 2 Short to one of Hockey's legends.
