If you can travel, the Great Lakes area is great summer vacation destination. Seeing photographs and really seeing the lakers up close is like looking at a photo of ten $100 bills and having ten in hand! I've heard that many retired ship captains choose to live in FL. Maybe you could make acquaintance with some. They always have an interesting tale or two to share.
