Just a side note here to the Buffalo now the Algoma Buffalo as it was 40 years ago today on March 16 that she was launched at the Bay Shipbuilding Yard in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Back then who would have thought and imagined where she would be at today? Goes to show that over time you just never know where vessels will end up at? Hope she still has a few more good years left under her hull and keel. Will miss seeing her though in ASC colors but I am also looking forward to her with her new name as well in 2018! Also, would love to see some historical photos of her on Facebook of the KYS Facebook page. Lately I've seen historical photos there of the 1,000 footers that were built there and with today being the 40th anniversary of her launch, why not have some history photos of her on the KYS facebook page? Anybody got some old photos to share of her when she was first launched and built to show and add.

Cornelius will be heading to the Erie Shipyard after the Algoma Hansa is done in drydock.

From the looks of things and it’s only my theory and opinions only on this subject but, I would assume that other than the new names and the change in flag of registry and stack colors along with the logos not much will change as far as appearance goes with the Buffalo along with the Cornelius as well? I would expect them to remain as they are as far as hull colors go and when it comes time for any drydockings or surveys, that’s when I expect them to be painted in Algoma’s colors. Take a look back in 2006 when ASC got the ships from Oglebay. None were painted until that winter when the Valor was the first to get painted in ASC hull colors for 2007. Remember also in 2011 when the American Republic went to GLF as she was still black until her survey was up and then she was painted red at Fraser a short time later. Time will tell for sure here.

If I'm correct, it was owned by a bank not ASC.
