As of this afternoon the barge is in the graving dock about half painted and the tug is tied up on the wall on the south end of the yard. It has been tied up there since the barge was docked I believe

How long does a 5-year inspection typically take? She's been at Sturgeon Bay for about two weeks. Anyone have an update?
I hope they're giving the barge some fresh paint too.

I seem to recall a few short years ago where the Presque Isle had arrived in Sturgeon Bay and then the barge was dropped off for its five year survey and inspection. The tug portion meanwhile if I can recall ended up possibly in Milwaukee maybe while it was awaiting the barge portion to get the survey and drydock work done on it. Wonder then if something similar will probably take place here then as far as the barge portion going to Sturgeon Bay for its five year and then the tug heading to Milwaukee then to await the barge's survey and drydocking at Sturgeon Bay? Just my thoughts only.

I thought the tug could only be drydocked at Port Weller, due to her hull depth. Also, why would the tug need to be drydocked again after just having her 5-year last season?

my question is this::::
my understanding was the tug could not get over the sill in the dry docks and that is why she always went to PWW for 5 year
So know she can get over or is the tug going in the floating one.
Thanks [that's 2 question ;)]

Yup saw that one too and as Chris M had mentioned in my earlier post regarding 5 year surveys this winter, he had mentioned that they were due for their Coast Guard Drydocking and survey. So it appears at least the barge portion will get their 5 year done then at Sturgeon Bay as the tug portion just had it done at Port Weller last season I believe it was? Sure do hope they paint up the barge portion of her as it needs major paint work especially on the stripe at the bow as that is really starting to wear off now especially on the port side.

I see on AIS after the PI unloaded in Gary it's now headed for Sturgeon Bay.
