According to this Detroit News story, use of motorized boats is indeed banned. Officials are concerned about the congregation of people at launcher ramps and with people buying gasoline, boat parts and bait.

Not sure where you got that info. Fishing is allowed in motorized boats. You can’t take your cruiser out joy riding. Every day hundreds of boats are on the Detroit River fishing and no one is bothering them. I know, I am one of them. Wyandotte n Ecorse Mi boat ramps are open. DNR is there to enforce fishing laws. Local cops monitor to be sure no one is congregating in groups. Launch, fish, retrieve n all is good.

Leave your motorized watercraft at home. Not allowed in Michigan for at least three more weeks. You can use any vessel that uses a paddle or oars. If you have a sailboat you can use that as well. So we can’t go fishing to put food on the table with our motorboats.

I wouldn't even plan on any events happening unless told otherwise.

The latest restrictions are very strict. Except for a few exceptions even travel between your own homes is not allowed. For instance don't leave your Detroit home and go north to the cabin.

Just read earlier today that the Stay At Home order for Michigan has now been extended through and until at least May 1st. The order first came about on March 23rd and was originally supposed to be and last for three weeks before the Governor recently extended it. I would think now that most events like the KYS Book signing in mid-May could yet again be postponed and put on hold due to the virus? Comments here?
