They've run the extra trips the past 2 Wednesdays. Don't know if any more are planned; I believe the Badger's season ends Oct. 3. These extra trips have been open for regular passenger service as well as the over-size loads. Both extra trips were announced with about a day's notice on the Badger's Facebook page.

Yes the Badger is making extra night trips hauling tower sections, they are bound for Altoona, Penn.

The vessel location page shows the Badger in mid-lake at 0300 GMT. Is this part of the on-going transportation of electric windmills from Wisconsin to Michigan for further land transportation to, I think, Pennsylvania?
